TRUAX NO-TILL DRILL RENTAL..

The Aitkin County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD)
now have a Truax No-Till Drill for rent!

This drill has 3 seeding boxes available. It is recommended for use in planting native grasses and forbs. It also has a box for alfalfa, non-native grasses and small grains. The center box is used for larger or fluffy seeds and has a picker wheel agitator to help move seed through the box. It seeds best into well prepared tilled ground, but has been used to seed into grass fields that have been cut and sprayed or burned off. Drill width is 14 feet and seeds a width of 8 feet with 8 inch row spacing. The drill requires a tractor with a minimum of 50 HP and hydraulic hookups. Pick up vehicle should be at least a ¾ ton pickup truck with 2 inch receiver hitch.

Rental Rate:

• $10/acre

• Upfront security deposit of $150 due at pick up or delivery

• Minimum fee $40 to rent the drill

Delivery Rates:

• 0-10 miles $50

• 11-20 miles $75

• 21-30 miles $100

• $2.50 each mile thereafter
